This is an outstanding antique sterling silver and enamel compact in excellent condition; it hasseveralhallmarks pictured. I believe is is circa 1880\'s, also signed by the maker. This scenic guillocheengineturned enamel depicts a landscape with a castle in the foreground. There is a mirror on the inside that has a crack, which can beeasilyfixed. The inside has a gilt (gold) wash. I see no flaws in this fabulous piece; there is no missing enamel and no scratches. The compact opens and closes perfectly, and measures about 2 1/4\". This is a rare antique compact and a beautiful work of art.
