For sale is an exceptional antique silver plated table Epergne or , centrepiece standing on three ball feet under a circular base.
The central trumpet is slightly taller than the others to balance the appearance of the piece.
Each piece is original and without damage or restoration.
The four trumpet Epergne is impressed to the base with the makers mark of CHH over S in a shield with other gothic marks for the Sheffield manufacturer Charles Henry Hattersley.
These marks were used between 1891 and the first two decades of the 20 th century , but the form of the Epergne and its flowing almost organic lines , suggest the later 19th century or even the first years of the 20th as early Art Nouveau.
The Epergne is in excellent order , showing only a tiny amount of plate loss ( easily replaced ) to a couple of the trumpet lips.
The makers marks to the underside of the base are still very crisp and clear.
The Epergne stands approx 13 inches tall , 11 inches at its widest points and weighs 816 grms.
