This sale is for a 1950 W Wilkanowski violin, as pictured.
Description: The violin measures about 23 1/2 inches long overall, 14 1/16 inches body length, and 8 3/8 inches wide at the widest point. Spruce top; maple neck, back and sides; ebony fingerboard and tailpiece; rosewood tuners. The label reads W. WILKANOWSKI, VIOLIN MAKER, 1950, SeRiaL # 2750, # 7273.
Condition: This violin is in excellent near-mint condition throughout. There are absolutely no cracks in the woodand nounglued seams. The original finish is better than 99 percent intact, with almost no scratches or dings. The worst damage is a slight abrasion to the lower left corner, as seen in my last picture.
The violin is strung up in playing condition. The sound post is standing in position. The strings are good quality. The bridge fits the top well, and the bridge height is set for proper string action. There is no chin rest.
For protection, the violin will be shipped in an old case with broken hinges.
