Up for sale is a vintage 1962 Zenith model 6040 console color television using the 29JC20Q chassis.  This is a historically significant TV because the 29JC20 was Zenith\'s very first consumer model color TV when they entered that market in 1962.  What also makes this TV unique is that this model also features the Space Command 400 remote control.  So not only was this a \"first\" for Zenith, but also a very high end model.  Unfortunately, all of the chassis tubes and power cord are missing which is how I acquired this set.  The good news though, it appears that nothing else on the chassis was taken or disturbed and is otherwise complete.  The quality of craftsmanship on the cabinet is excellent.  The early Zenith sets were known for top notch quality electronics as well as being high quality furniture.  This cabinet while not mint does have various marks and scratches and a heavily worn control door.  The TV was in a clean, dry environment though and the speaker cloths are still in very good shape.  The space command 400 remote is missing, but fortunately those are still commonly found on .  The picture tube has cataracts, but to those in the know, that is a common problem and very easily repaired.  The best news though is that the CRT is the original 21FBP22 and does test good on all 3 guns.  So the TV does have hope with some TLC.  It\'s a special set and very worthy of the time and effort to restore it because it\'s Zenith\'s first color set.The TV weighs approx. 150 lbs.  Its dimensions are as follows:  45-1/2\" long, 21-1/2\" deep (add an additional 6\" for the CRT cap on back), and 32\" high.   The TV is sold AS-IS, no warranty, no return.  Local pick up only in Downers Grove, IL, about 20 miles west of Chicago.  The TV must be picked up within 14 days of sale close unless an agreement is made prior to sale close.  buyers with less than 10 responses MUST contact me prior to offerding to discuss your intended shipping/pick up plan.  Thank you.
