This is a beautiful children\'s cooking set made by the A& J Company in the 1920\'s. The beater shows a patent date of 1923.
All of the items are in good condition with the wooden rolling pin and pastry board showing some stains.
It is doubtful that these were ever used.
The box shows the usual wear from age. Please see all of the photos.
A & J was a major quality kitchen utensil manufacturer who made these children\'s sets to duplicate what Mother was using with the same quality.
They came in 3 colors, blue, green and red, with blue being the most popular.
Each handle had 3 coats of enamel for good wearability. The metal pieces were nickel plated.
The pottery pieces were made by Weller pottery, a well known pottery company in Zanesville, Ohio. The cup was called a beater jar.
About 1929 the company was purchased by Edward Katzinger of Chicago and became known as EKCO, Chicago, Ill.
