Up for sale is an excellent lowhead orcontented Hen Bluebill by Michigan’s master decoy maker Ben Schmidt of Detroit,ca. 1935. This early model was clearlyvery lightly used showing only very light rubs and a couple of smalldents. Other than that the paint isstrong, vibrant and very clean. It doeshave a horizontal age check on the head, and an in the making check on the leftside of the body that was filled when the decoy was made. It retains its original glass eyes andweighted wooden keel. It carries a hotstamped brand – EAO. This is a greatopportunity to own the best of Ben Schmidt’s production.
