Up for sale today is this GORGEOUS vintage monochromatic dark lavender colored glass seed bead evening bag.It has a Hobe styled goldtone jewelry quality frame featuring 100 sparkling purple prong set,bevel cut and unfoiled rhinestones set within open back settings.The oval shaped purple rhinestone tab closure is in good working order and closes properly with a click sound.The seed beading on the body is in excellent to mint condition without any flaws and is connected by hand stitching at every point to the frame.The only flaw to be disclosed is that one rhinestone is missing on the frame right above the closure tab to the left and there is expected vintage aging or darkening on the frame.The body of this bag is 6\" inches high by 9\" inches at its widest point and the chain handle is 10\" inches long.The purple silk or satin lining is in excellent to mint condition without tears and has hardly aged included with the bag is its original coin purse that is covered in the lining fabric.It is signed MADE IN FRANCE and that is where the Josef company was located the beaded bodies were made there than imported to the US.This bag is not signed Hobe or Josef I did see though an ad from 1946 that featured Hobe Josef bags they had exactly the same shape with a very similiar Hobe frame applied and even then the price was high at $125.00.Very few of these bags were made and this one is breathtaking and a rare find!!If you have any questions please ask!Payment to be made within 3 days of sale close.
