Up forsale is a very good hard to find hunted over hollow carved pintail made by illinoisriver decoy maker, george “skippy” barto (1880-1959), circa 1930-40.this birdexhibits his hand gouged back style of “elliston paterns”carving and broad stroke painting with great statuesque form. this bird stillhas lots of very good original paint . This old “perdew inspired puddleduck” does show some wear from use including rubs to the body, tail, bill andhead. The body is in great physical condition, the neck has age checks andOnecheck goes all the way around the neck but is stable and does not appear tohave been reset.
