Up for sale is an excellent Standard Glasseye Grade Drake Mallard made by the Mason decoy factory, ca. 1910. This early decoy is in very strong, dry original paint with some wear from use. The feather loops and speculums are very bright as is the paint onthehead and bill. The much coveted paint brush swirls are extremely clear around the breast paint and in the black near the tail. There are a few rubs to the edges of the bill, top of the head and edges of the tail - typical of a 100+ year-olddecoy that has been used. It has good, strong scalloping on the breast. It retains its original glass eyes. This is a great opportunity to own an honest decoy in excellent condition and paint from the most prolific decoy factory ever.
