VINTAGE MASON FACTORY TACKEYE HEN MALLARD DUCK DECOY GOOD ORIGINAL PAINT
Price: US $203.50

Up for sale is another good and very early Tackeye Hen Mallard made by the Mason factory of Detroit, Michigan, ca. 1900.  Note the early protruding breast and slightly uplifted head position.  It has a good deal of original paint with nice, bright feather loops.  One of the white strokes on the left speculum appears to have been enhanced and a crack on the right side of the tail has been filled.  This crack runs around into the bottom of the decoy.  The neck filler has been replaced and there is some paint flaking particularly on the back and top of the tail. There are also a couple of very tight age checks on the sides and a filled one on the lower right side with touch-up to that area.  The right tack eye is a likely replacement.  This 120-year old decoy does show wear from use with rubs to the bill, top of the head and tail.  The bottom has three small round inletted lead weights and eight smaller pointed ballast weights as well.  (NOTE:  This is a rigmate to a Drake Mallard we are listing this week.  They make a great pair. We DO combine shipping.)  Measures 15-3/4” long; 5-1/4” wide; and 7” tall.  Please ask questions or for more pictures.  Shipping includes insurance and is higher outside of the USA.   Add $10 for shipments to Washington, Oregon, and California.  (Sorry…the Postal Service has gotten very pricey for trips across country.) Thanks for looking.
