PREMIER MASON BLUEWING TEAL DRAKE DUCK DECOY Rare Premier Bluewing Teal Drake Duck Decoy by the famous Mason Decoy Company of Detroit Michigan. Circa 1910. The decoy is in excellent original paint and has Mason’s best “Snakey Head” styling. It is in excellent structural condition. The paint is strong with very minor wear overall with lots of thick brush strokes and feathering. The bill is extremely well carved and quite long. The head had overpaint on it and was professionally taken off revealing strong original paint. There was a small area of professional restoration to a nick on the edge of the crown of the head. The rest of this decoy is untouched. This is the way the decoy came out of the marsh after the last day it was hunted over 100 years ago. The original keel weight is still attached.
