Vintage Schoenhut Liberty Banjo Ukulele 1925-33!Up for sale is a Schoenhut Liberty model banjo ukulele. These instruments were made in Philadelphia, PA from 1925 to 1933 by Schoenhut. given the injuries and repairs described below it would be classified as a player rath than a museum piece. It is fully functional, has a great "banjoey" tone and is a lot of fun to play. This is tuned like a soprano/concert/tenor ukulele. A change of pace to the usual "uke" sound. It has a recent set of Aquila ukulele strings and a recent bridge. As far as is know, the rest of the instrument is original. The unpadded gig bag shown is included. The entire instrument, with the exception of friction pegs and skin head, is made from maple. Including the fret board and nut. The wooden friction pegs are believed to be ebony. Everything functions as it should and plays well.There is one repair that was done long before my time. The head stock was cracked near the 2nd string friction peg and was glued. This repair is stable & functional and has never given me any problems with tuning, playing or anything else.Some Specifications:Scale Length - 13"
