This necklace is extremely large, intricately designed and finely made. The necklace appears to be on its original strand and is strung on very fine wire. The clasp has French silver marks and probably a maker mark but it is too small for me to identify. The necklace incorporates a large variety of sizes and shaped rondelle pendants that give the necklace a vibrant sparkle and complexity to the design. The glass beads are made to simulate Amethyst and have little swirls of color that are made to simulate natural fissures in the Amethyst. There is one small rondelle at the very bottom of the necklace on one side that is missing its paste stones. The rest of the rondelles and the beads are completely intact without anything missing. All of the stones are bright and sparkly with maybe a tiny bit of yellowing here and there but no darkening. There are no chips to the glass beads - they are all fresh looking with smooth surfaces that gleam and crisp faceting. The setting for the rondelle\'s have a little bit of darkening and discoloration but its a modest amount. Overall this is a beautifully made and verrry substantial, Art Deco French paste necklace, that was made in France during the 1920\'s that is in Excellent condition.
