This necklace is not signed but is well documented as a piece made by Jakob Bengel during the 1930’s. The brick link construction typifies the influence of the Industrial Age on design. Each link moves and pivots independently and is fairly thin so the necklace lays very flush along your neckline when worn. This piece is well made with a substantial weight and feel when worn. This necklace has vivid blue enameling and glass blue bead dangles that give it subtle color and movement when worn. There is enamel loss - mostly at the back of the necklace as it’s almost completely gone but the front of the necklace has minimal loss. There are no chips to the glass and the chrome has a bright patina. Overall this is a finely designed and well made, Art deco machine age necklace, that was made by Jakob Bengel during the 1930’s that is in Very good condition.
