First things first: I have this item listed as from WWl because I was told that this artillery shell was from WWl...please view all pictures and you decide if it is from WWl or not, as this item is being sold AS YOU SEE IT IN THE PICTURES.
I only do Treasure Hunting(I know absolutely nothing - I have no knowledge on items like this), but I have donedone some EXTENSIVE research on trench art(similar as this one with a dragon) and all I can tell you is that themany trench art with dragons that I saw on the internet DONT come close to this one.
Who ever made this artwork was very talented. When hammering inch by inch, this person took his timeas this artwork is very detailed, just look at the claws, face, tongue, mouth, teeth, body and tail how finely made they are. This artillery shell IS NOT painted and it has not been cleaned in any way, it still has the original patina.
I see a couple of surface cracks, but i\'m assuming that it was from the hammering, but it is nothing that looksugly(as you can see for yourself).
This artillery shell does not have the bottom part, it is open from both sides and it measuresapproximately: 18 1/4\" x 3\" .
