WW1 WWI US Army flashlight original Doughboy uniform WWI equipment WWI uniform
Price: US $57.39
For sale is an original WW1 WWI US Army flashlight as used in the Great War. This piece of equipment was made by Beacon Electric Works of New York. It was made to beattached to the front of a uniform coat or tunic using the straps, or attached by snaps around a belt. All is in good condition, see the photos. It has a patent date of November 12, 1917, which is curiously 364 days before the Armistice was signed in 1918. The fashlight contains the original Eveready battery, with a expiration date of August 10, 1918. The battery is long since discharged, however the bulb still works. This battery is identical to those still made in Europe for bicycle lamps. I have had this little gem of history since I was a teenager, it was my first military collectible. That was over 40 years ago, time for a new home.
