Good condition and guaranteed original WWI AustrianMannlicher Steyr Model 1895 bayonet that is the scarce cavalry type with afront sight blade on the muzzle ring. Bayonet is marked “FGGY” on the left sideblade ricasso for production at Budapest Arsenal, and has the Austrian eagleproof mark on the right side. Bayonet has an unusual unit marking on thepommel-“FLWA 3228”, possibly for an Air Force (Flieger) unit. Blade hasoriginal bright finish with some gray and brown. Remaining metal finish isblack paint showing a little flaking. Wood grips have original finish and agood tight fit, lock button functions fine. Fitted in correct original steelscabbard that has black painted finish and no dents. Scabbard has the Steyr“OEWG” proof mark on the frog stud along with the Austrian eagle. A scarcecavalry type M95 bayonet with an unusual, unidentified unit marking.
