Very good condition and guaranteed original WWI US Model1917 bayonet, as used on the P17 Enfield rifle and various trench guns withbayonet fittings. Maker marked “REMINGTON” on the left side blade ricasso anddated 1917. Right side ricasso has eagle head, U.S., and flaming bomb proofmarks. Blade has nice correct original metal finish of blue at the base andremaining gray parkerized, which has a little brown. Remaining metal finish isoriginal blue showing some wear. Wood grips have original finish and a goodtight fit with some handling marks. Right side has scratched “A P”. Lock buttonfunctions fine. Fitted in correct original second pattern leather scabbard thathas steel throat and tip. Leather has nice original green finish and showslight wear. Maker marked with inspector initials. Stitching and staples arenice and tight. A nice WWI US Model 1917 bayonet for your collection alone orto display on your gun.
