Very good condition original WWI US Navy Model 1917 boardingcutlass that is the scarce first pattern with wooden grips, solid guard, andmarked U.S.N. on the blade. The more common second pattern was unmarked, had abasket guard with arms, and black plastic grips. 25” blade has original bluemetal finish showing light wear. Remaining metal finish is beautiful originalblue showing very little wear. Checkered wood grips have original finish and agood tight fit, both have a chip near the pommel. No scabbard present.
