Yonezawa 1962 Cadillac 4 door hardtop tin toy carJapan
This is a 22 inch (56 cm)HUGE tin car that is one of the largest tin toy cars coming out of Japan in the“post war” hey day of Japanese automobile production.
This particular example is invery good original condition. There are a few spots where the paint in thinwith some minor spider/thread rust. The most noticeable do show rust ( the only 2 parts I can see on the car) can clearly be seen in pics on the upper mid trunk top area, and drivers doorbottom corner.
The windshield is damaged(rather large holes/crack) in two spots. The drivers bottom corner, andpassenger top corner. There is a crack running along the bottom starting at thehole at the drivers bottom side to just past mid w/shield. These are “buttugly” yet the car still displays well as 80% of the windshield remains.
The base is very clean, andI’m not sure, but doubt it has ever been opened up. ( why would it be?) All 4tires are excellent, hubcaps are very good (often these are scuffed/scraped onsidewall) and the friction motor works perfect. ( siren sound is even still there, maybe not as new, but there!)
The detailed interior is flatout awesome, BIG original steering wheel in place, litho’d instruments. Theplating is good, but somewhat dull, especially the front and rear emblems thatwere gold when new. The plastic headlight on the outer pass side has a crack init, but is complete. All horns , lights, sirens are present and original. Therear fins never had lenses in them.Antenna has some corrosion,but is original and has that great “spring” action.
This car is really nice,besides all my blemishes described. The body is quite straight, has a few tinydings and scratches, but nothing major. These police cars showed scratches, andthis one looks quite clean. I\'ll call it a 6.5- 7 out of 10.
I’M being VERY critical of what is anAWESOME, HUGE, STUNNING toy car. I’m a condition freak, so assume others areas well. See my response. No disappointments when you buy from me.
