COMPATIBILITY & SETUP NOTE:
- macOS 14 Sonoma or older: Ready to go for both new setup and existing Time Machine backups.
- macOS 15 Sequoia & macOS 16 Tahoe: Works great for continuing existing Time Machine backups over AFP! Just note that setup for a brand-new backup chain requires a Mac running macOS 14 or older, or an existing backup store already on the drive.
- Future macOS Versions: Apple has formally deprecated AFP, so future macOS releases may fully retire AirPort Time Capsule backup support.
