This is my personal laptop and has been used as a desktop in a clean environment. I have kept it clean. I can play most games on this, but NVIDIA just ended support for the graphics card, so any future big-budget games may not be compatible. This is a very nice multimedia machine, the screen is good for movies and the speakers are pretty good. Something that I have discovered is that the keyboard deck is just large enough to accommodate a gaming mouse, this means that you can play mouse/keyboard games on your lap.
The EVGA SC17 is a unique laptop, it uses a high-power version of the laptop GTX 1070 graphics card and supports overclocking for the CPU, GPU and RAM from the factory. Also, the laptop features a full UEFI BIOS and a Clear CMOS button (concealed next to the power button). The laptop provides ports for three external monitors, this means that you can have four screens without relying on USB monitors. Also included is an Ethernet port and a 3.5mm headphone/microphone port. The speakers are placed on the deck and are designed to be upward-firing, this is one of the better speaker layouts. There are some quirks, you are only provided with two USB 3.0 ports and one USB 3.1 Type C port. I will include my USB hub, as it is almost necessary. The laptop doesn't hold your hand, you pretty much have to become an expert and your own tech guy. The design is robust and the components are premium (EVGA motherboards are considered very high-end), there is no frame flex and the bottom cover is installed with premium screws; they are considerably larger than normal laptop screws. The laptop likes to run hot, if you are using this on you lap, you should invest in a tray or or cooler.This laptop is in very good condition and is very clean. I installed a Samsung 1 tb Samsung 980 NVME. I replaced the battery, but this replacement has already died. A new battery will cost around $35-$50. The screen is 4k 60hz, it does not have G-sync. This laptop has a Sharp LQ173D1JW31 screen. The laptop supports G-Sync for external monitors.
