Hard-drives in iMac are compatible, just instal, power-on and press the option key so the Mac will recognize the new hard drive
Choose the new hard drive to boot up the Mac type in the password "12345" and go

***For iMac 2009 or 2010 only "Old hard drive" must be Western-Digital to match with the temperature sensor
