SMART reads 7 to 9 power-on hours on these drives. That is the number you will see when you plug them in, and I would rather you hear it from me than find it yourself.
All of that time is mine. I ran a full 4TB zero-fill over every drive as a combined sanitization and burn-in test. A 4TB sequential write at this drive's speed takes about 7.4 hours, which accounts for the entire reading, and the 4TB of lifetime writes on each counter is that same pass.
Before I wiped them the counters read 0 power-on hours, 0 bytes read and 0 bytes written. They were factory spares that sat in a server and were never put into service. That is why they are listed as open box - but they are not sealed new, they do not have original packaging, and I am not going to call them new.
This is also a SAS drive, not SATA. It will NOT plug into a normal desktop motherboard. You need a SAS HBA or RAID controller.

ABOUT THE ENCRYPTION FLAG
These are SED-capable drives. Encryption is NOT enabled and the drives are NOT locked - they are ordinary unlocked drives and need no password. I am calling it out because locked SEDs are a real and expensive problem on the used market and you should not have to guess.
HONEST ASSESSMENT
Good for: a ZFS/Ceph/unRAID pool, a RAID rebuild, or cold spares where you want drives with no meaningful runtime behind them. Four matched drives with this little time on them are hard to find used.
Not good for: a desktop without a SAS controller. Also note 7200 rpm enterprise drives are loud and run warm; this is not a quiet NAS drive.
DATA SANITIZATION
Every drive received a full-length zero overwrite across the entire LBA range, followed by a verification read and a post-wipe SMART re-read compared against the pre-wipe capture. No drive is included unless its defect and error counts were unchanged by the wipe. This is NIST 800-88 Clear. The drives arrive as raw zeroed disks with no partition table.

Four (4) bare 3.5 inch SAS hard drives, serials as listed above. No caddies, no trays, no screws, no cables, no adapters, no mounting hardware. Bare drives only.
