"Because not every retro PC has to be a beige tower the size of a microwave."
If you're looking for something a little different from the usual retro hardware, here's a lovely Hermes MS-6243 Slim PC, complete with its matching powered stereo speakers and a period-correct PS/2 mouse.
Windows Me Operating System80 GB Harddrive512 MB RAMFloppy-DriveDVD-Rom Drive
and a bunch of Games and Software installed. The MS-6243 is a great example of the early 2000s fascination with making desktop PCs look more like stylish consumer electronics than office equipment. Slim, compact and surprisingly feature-packed for its day, it was marketed as an "all-in-one" entertainment PC, offering modern (for the time!) connectivity including USB, optional IEEE-1394 (FireWire), DVI, TV-Out and SPDIF.
Whether you're building a retro Windows 98/2000/XP setup, collecting unusual OEM systems, or simply appreciate hardware from the era when "multimedia PC" was the hottest marketing buzzword around, this makes a fun addition to any collection.
Included- Hermes MS-6243 Slim Desktop PC
- Pair of H&H CPL 80 powered stereo speakers
- PS/2 ball mouse (yes, with the satisfying rubber ball underneath!)
Everything pictured is included.
Cosmetic ConditionOverall the system presents nicely for its age.
The case has the expected marks, scratches and signs of use accumulated over more than two decades. Nothing unusual for vintage hardware.
The speakers are fully intact but have developed noticeable yellowing from age and UV exposure—a classic retro computing badge of honour. They actually give the whole setup that unmistakable "survived an office since 2002" aesthetic.
The serial mouse is in similarly good vintage condition and still has its original ball mechanism.
Please study the photos carefully, as they form part of the description.
Why collectors like theseUnlike generic beige desktop systems, the MS-6243 has a distinctive slim design that looks fantastic on display.
Highlights include:
- Compact Small Form Factor design
- Early 2000s multimedia styling
- Front USB connectivity
- Designed with support for multiple multimedia expansion options
- Excellent candidate for a Windows 98 SE, Windows 2000 or Windows XP retro build (depending on installed hardware)
It's the kind of machine that quietly sat under countless office monitors while people proudly burned CDs, transferred MiniDV footage over FireWire, and believed 256 MB of RAM was more than anyone would ever need.
Simpler times.
Please Note- Sold exactly as shown in the photographs.
- Due to the age of vintage electronics, this is sold as a collectible piece of retro hardware.
- Specifications, installed components and operating status should be verified by the buyer if these are important for their intended use.

A charming and increasingly uncommon early-2000s slim desktop bundle that's equally at home in a retro gaming room, vintage computer collection or on display alongside other classic PC hardware.
Happy offerding—and may your capacitors remain healthy and your CMOS battery still remember what year it is.
