Important note if requesting a plug other than L6-30: Please note there is 2-day processing delay and $10 surcharge for the change in plug. Therefore, if requesting a specialty plug, please use the make offer button, add $10 to the price, and put a note below with the plug type requested. Thank you ! Ted / Amity Labs.Power Multiple Antminers With This Protected, Metered PDU Designed For Mining
Every single feature of this PDU has been optimized for real-world use by experienced miners. We have spent years trying different form factors and feature combinations in our facility before settling on this design. It is compact, practical, and does everything a miner needs without unnecessary Four (x4) standard C13 outlets + two (x2) heavy current C19 outlets. This outlet mix / count is ideal for mining, and allows you to use dual-miner PSUs.
  • Input: Six foot (1.8m) 10 AWG SJT 105 deg C cable with L6-30 plug (common data center standard). We can install another type of plug to fit your electrical system (see chart pictures for reference).
  • PDU Rating: 24 Amp Max @ 200-240V. You can supply any combination/number of Antminers as long as the total input current drawn is less than 24 amps - and provided the circuit into which this PDU is plugged can supply this current safely (more on this below).
  • Meter: Shows both Amperes and Volts in easily readable always-lighted manner. You can see your operating status at a glance, and detect overcurrent conditions or mining problems quickly. Makes your PDU like "killawatt" but better.
  • Breaker: High kAIC UL-listed breaker protects against overcurrent conditions from accidental overloads or miner failures.
  • Main Switch: Allows to power off entire branch, protected by a cap against accidental tripping.
  • Form Factor: Designed to fit standard 19-inch racks (1.5U height). Mounting ears and hardware included.
  • Listed Components: Help provide reliability and high performance levels.

  • Please read the tips below - they will help you improve your mining performance and safety.
What is a PDU?A PDU is basically an "outlet strip/extension cord" for 220V high-power applications. Ours has additional features like built-in metering and protection. They are common equipment in data centers. This PDU turns your shop/utility/dryer...etc outlet into multiple 220V outlets, thereby giving you an AC supply similar to what large data centers enjoy.
Do Not Mine On 110V !Mining at home on 110V? You are a fire hazard! Even a single S9 powered on 110V draws enough current (~12 amps) to damage most ordinary home wiring and outlets (usually rated at 15 amp max, 12 amp continuous). Because this damage is inside your walls, you'll not know it until too late. Mining should be done on "220V" circuits. Twice the voltage results in half the current. This reduces the chance of overheated / damaged electrical systems for the same load. Most US homes and small businesses have 220V at the panel - and often at large 30 amp outlets for dryers, ranges, garage shops, or utility rooms (see reference chart in listing for common 220V outlet types). We can install the right plug type to the PDU, which enables these outlets to be used for mining. One large 30 or 50 amp outlet can power multiple miners in this manner (please read important notes on loading below). If you already have a data center electrical system with L6-30 outlets, this PDU is ready to plug.
Circuit Loading and OverloadingEvery electrical circuit has a maximum current rating beyond which it cannot operate safely. Loading a circuit above this limit greatly increases the chances of electrical fire and other hazards. This rated limit is NOT the amps printed on the breaker - nor some simple formula such as "80% of breaker amps" you might have seen online. More detailed discussion of this can be found on our site. Please consult an electrician to find out the maximum load you can have on the circuits you plan to use for mining. That 50A range circuit cannot deliver 50A of current safely - guaranteed. The electrician will tell you the maximum limit for your local conditions. Make sure you tell the electrician the load is continuous and most likely at high temperature. This has a very important effect on the limit. The PDU itself has a limit current of 24 amps continuous at 30 deg C. Your effective limit is the smallest of the PDU max amps, and those of the circuit it's plugged in. In no case, will this limit be larger than 24 amps.
Max Load and CurrentThe most important limit to keep in mind is the maximum current. On single-phase mining circuits, you can estimate the current from the following:Current (Amps) = Power Consumption (Watts) / Voltage (V)Your mining load has essentially constant power consumption. The typical Antminer S9 draws ~1400 Watts, an L3+ draws ~ 850 Watts...etc. You can find miner consumption charts on our site. The voltage on "220V" varies between 200-240V or so depending on your location and service type. Typical values are ~230V for single phase service, and ~208V for triple phase industrial service. With the formula above, you can do an initial estimate of the current drawn by your mining setup. For example, four Antminer S9 on 235V will draw about 23.5 amps. On 208V, they will draw about 27 amps - significantly above the 24 amp PDU current limit. The PDU built-in meter shows you the current drawn. Do not exceed the limits of your circuits and PDU - this is serious.
    Customization, Special Orders, Etc.
    • We can deliver custom PDU designs for large orders. Please contact us for lead time and cost estimates.
    • Please note there is a surcharge for triple-phase, IEC309, or some other specialty plug types - contact us for a quote.
    • The PDU is single-phase. If you want a 3P plug, please tell us which phase to leave unconnected. Remember to "swizzle" 1P loads on 3P circuits to keep phase currents approximately equal.
    • Free shipping to Continental US addresses only. Please contact us for shipping surcharge to non-US addresses.

Please don't forget to write us a note requesting the right plug type for your outlet when ordering. Thanks!
