Thislisting is for an extremely rare Summagraphics MacTablet Model number MM1201.Comes with Connecting Adapter, Original Stylus AND ORIGINAL BOX (with someoriginal Styrofoam). It measures 16" x 16" with the live drawing areaof the tablet measuring 11.7” by 11.7”.

TheSummagraphics tablet was originally developed in 1979 to draw graphics on anApple II computer. Summagraphics released a second iteration of the product in1983, roughly concurrent with the production of the Apple IIe. (And, I do seesomeone in a blog post from 2023 using this version on a Macintosh SE.) The backof box gives copyright date of 1984 so can assume this is the second iteration.

Oncethe driver is installed, the stylus connects with a phone-style jack. It movesthe cursor on screen as you drag the point across the tablet and the singlebutton acts as a mouse button. There’s a springiness to the nib of the stylus,which (also acts as a mouse button, so you can just push down to draw.

Apple's1981 Spring catalogue featured an advertisement for the MacTablet which stated:"The Utopia Graphics Tablet System includes awide array of brush types for producing original shapes and functions, andprovides 94 color options that can generate 40 unique brush shades. The UtopiaGraphics Tablet provides a very easy way to create intricate designs, brilliantcolors, and animated graphics."I found this tablet at an estate sale and it has not been tested. The only MacTablet I found onlinesold in March 2023 at sale for $1,300 untested and it did not have the stylus or the box.
