Vintage Emerald Systems 5.0 GB external tape backup drive, model DRV05G-9000, with two rear SCSI connectors.

The unit powers on. The fan runs, and mechanical activity can be heard inside. At startup, both the green and amber front indicators illuminate. When the front button is pressed, the unit appears to attempt an operation, but the tape door does not open during our test. The amber indicator then goes out while the green indicator remains lit, and the unit continues making sounds as though it is trying to complete the operation.

No tape was used, and the drive was not connected to a computer. Reading, writing, and all other functions have not been tested. Due to the behavior described above, this unit is sold as-is for parts or repair. Please review all photos for its cosmetic condition and the exact item included.
