Whether you are dealing with a slow hotel network, securing your data on public Wi-Fi, or setting up a temporary workspace, the Slate 7 ensures you have a stable, high-performance connection at your fingertips.

Combining the latest wireless technology with intuitive controls and robust hardware, the Slate 7 is not just a router—it is a comprehensive network management tool tailored for life on the go.

Key Features and Benefits

• Lightning-Fast Wi-Fi 7 Technology: Experience the future of wireless connectivity with next-generation Wi-Fi 7. Supporting Multi-Link Operation (MLO) to connect to 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands simultaneously, the Slate 7 delivers a combined speed of up to 3600 Mbps (688 Mbps on 2.4GHz and 2882 Mbps on 5GHz). This ensures buttery-smooth 4K streaming, lag-free gaming, and instant file transfers, even in congested environments.
• Dual 2.5G Ethernet Ports: Equipped with two high-speed 2.5Gbps ports (one WAN and one LAN), this router maximizes your wired connection potential. It is perfect for demanding bandwidth tasks, providing ultra-fast backbone connections for your most critical devices when Wi-Fi just isn't enough.
• Interactive Touchscreen Display: Manage your network without ever opening a web browser. The built-in interactive touchscreen allows you to instantly check your connection status, monitor real-time internet speeds, generate a QR code for quick Wi-Fi sharing, and even toggle your preferred VPN on or off with a simple swipe.
• Advanced VPN & Security: Protect your sensitive data on untrusted public networks. The Slate 7 acts as a VPN client or server, supporting OpenVPN (up to 100 Mbps) and WireGuard® (up to 540 Mbps), allowing you to seamlessly access corporate internal resources via encrypted tunnels.
• OpenWrt-Based Customization: Running on OpenWrt 23.05 (Kernel 5.4.213), the router offers unparalleled flexibility. With 1GB of DDR4 memory and 512MB of NAND Flash storage, you have ample space to install a wide range of plugins for ad-blocking, traffic monitoring, and custom network rules.
• PD Compatible Power: Travel lighter thanks to the modern Type-C power interface. It supports Power Delivery (PD) compatibility (5V/3A, 9V/3A, 12V/2.5A), meaning you can often use your laptop or phone charger to power the router, reducing cable clutter in your bag.

Real-World Use Cases

• Hotel Room Upgrades: Bypass hotel device limits by connecting the Slate 7 to the room's single ethernet port or Wi-Fi login, broadcasting your own secure, high-speed private network for all your devices simultaneously.
• Public Wi-Fi Protection: Safely browse the web, check bank accounts, or access corporate networks from coffee shops and airports using the one-click hardware VPN toggle to encrypt your entire connection instantly.
• Digital Nomad Workspaces: Set up a reliable, high-bandwidth local network in co-working spaces or short-term rentals, utilizing the USB 3.0 port for fast file and media sharing among your team.
• Connecting Multiple Devices: With advanced OFDMA technology optimizing bandwidth allocation, easily connect over 120+ devices at once without experiencing latency or drop-offs, ideal for smart home setups on the road.

Sophisticated Hardware Design

Despite its powerful capabilities, the Slate 7 is engineered to travel. Measuring just 130 x 91 x 34mm and weighing only 295g, it easily slips into a backpack or briefcase. The dual foldable external Wi-Fi antennas ensure excellent signal strength when deployed, while snapping flush against the body for safe transport. A dedicated USB 3.0 port enables quick network storage solutions or cellular tethering.

Performance Comparison

When compared to previous generations, the Slate 7 takes a massive leap forward, upgrading the CPU to a robust Qualcomm Quad-core processor, doubling the standard Ethernet speeds to 2.5Gbps, and adopting the superior Wi-Fi 7 protocol for denser, faster data transmission.
