I have personally tested each processor - before removing any components each computer was booted up with a Linux Mint USB drive and hardware testing was then performed. While my main work these days is in lab electronics, the first decade of my career was in IT - building and repairing computers, troubleshooting, on-site support, etc... All testing and handling was performed properly. These processors are guaranteed working.
The computers I pulled these processors from were either never used, or possibly only racked and plugged in. The only real wear on the exteriors is at the rackmount ears themselves. There was not a spec of dust inside any machine, not in any fan, not in the intake filter, not on any outlet. All units still had identically placed keys zip-tied to a rackmount handle, not yet removed. As best as I can tell these were pulled from a canceled or liquidated project that was never fully up and running.
All testing and part-harvesting was performed on my bench under full ESD precautions. All processor lids were cleaned with non-lint producing cleanroom swabs, 99.9% anhydrous alcohol, and Kimtech wipes while observing full ESD precautions. All processors, after removal and taking pictures (also on my bench ESD mat) were promptly put in proper anti-static bags - oversized and folded over multiple times to provide initial ESD-safe padding to protect the pads.
