I purchased a bunch of JBL Duet speakers for my desktop computers when they first came out in 2005. This item is the original JBL Duet speaker, not the Duet II speakers that came out later, in 2008.
JBL multimedia speakers were very popular in their day, and noted for JBL's proprietary Phoenix lightweight aluminum transducers, which were able to reproduce sound with exceptional accuracy and detail. I've always preferred them to some other popular speakers at the time because of their precise crystal-clear high frequencies, deep, crisp midrange sound, and powerful bass.
This item is the last of the ones intended as backup speakers to the ones that I was using at the time, so this item has never been used, and it comes in its original box and packaging.
