⚠️ SAS, not SATA — check before you buy
This is a SAS (Serial Attached SCSI) drive for servers and storage arrays. It will not connect to a standard desktop PC motherboard — SATA ports and SATA cables are not compatible. You need a SAS HBA/RAID controller or a server/NAS backplane (this model is commonly used in NetApp, Dell, HPE and Supermicro systems). Toshiba's MG04 series is a nearline enterprise line built for 24/7 operation, rated for a 550TB/year workload and 1.4-million-hour MTTF. This SAS model is a popular replacement and expansion drive for NetApp shelves (X477A-R6 equivalents), Dell PowerEdge/PowerVault, HPE ProLiant and Supermicro chassis, and homelab ZFS/TrueNAS builds running SAS HBAs.
