A single NEMA 5-15P wall plug splits into two IEC C13 female connectors, so two devices run from one outlet on one cord instead of two cords fighting for two outlets.

• Dual monitors from one outlet. The most common use by a wide margin. Two displays, one plug, half the cable clutter behind the desk.
• Freeing up outlets in a rack or under a desk. Outlets are always the scarce resource. This turns one into two without adding a power strip.
• Network gear and small appliances. Switches, a NAS and a modem, anything with a standard C14 inlet.
• Behind an AV rack or entertainment center where you have one free receptacle and two things to plug in.
• Feeding two devices off a single UPS outlet when the UPS has more capacity than it has receptacles.

10 amps is the total, shared between both legs. That is roughly 1250 watts at 125V across the pair, not per outlet. Two monitors, a switch and a NAS, or similar light loads are well within it. Do not hang two space heaters, two laser printers or anything else with a heavy draw off a single splitter.

• Check which direction you need. This is a wall plug that splits into two device-side C13 connectors. It is not a C14 to dual C13 PDU-style splitter, which is a different part.
• The 10A rating is shared. Both devices together must stay under it. Worth actually adding up if you are running anything with a motor or a heating element.
• 125V, North American plug. Not for 208V or 240V circuits, and not for international outlets.
• Sold as-is with no returns. New and sealed, but please ask any questions before buying.
