For sale is one of the rarest TI calculators from 1976. Serial is 1812! It is a programmable SR-60. I was able to program a small set of keystrokes in and do calculations. It has both memory card expansions!
Overall, this desktop calculator is in good physical shape for its age and the keyboard is responsive! It has typical yellowing.
The left half of the display seems to work great how ever the right half goes dim and some leds won’t light up here and there. Probably a loose connection.
This calculator has been undisturbed and still has the terrible ribbon cable connector. Printer feeds and tries to print however no thermal output. The mag reader feed wheel was working and I had tested the random num card and it worked, however, I had to manually help feed the card in. The motor spins fine but the rubber friction wheel has deteriorated and turned goopy. I don’t recommend inserting a card in or the card will be a sticky mess until this is repaired.
This calculator is a great candidate for repair. Remember to push back the ic chips back into the socket as they are upside down and will rattle loose from shipment. These are notorious for cables rattling loose as well. This sale is as is especially since it most likely won’t work right away after shipping until you inspect the inside.
The case is neat and has keys. It has a bend on the edge towards the handle but this probably can be worked out. The foam inside the case has not deteriorated surprisingly!
This lot comes with three binders full of rare manuals and mag programs as seen in the pictures. I would say about half of the mag strips should be in good shape. I would get these out of the plastic binder holders and you can see has ripples and become a little sticky. One binder has the worst condition mag strips as they are stuck and have residue mostly on the Math i library. Most of the mag strips have not been tested and are as is and make a neat display piece.
There are some unused mag strips as well in good shape!
This piece definitely deserves to be displayed in a museum!
